Hello there, today I have brought you Apple iPhone 3G, first phone from Apple. A SIM free Phone from iPhone. Its a new nice looking phone. Actually to think, Its just a Phone version of iPod as some people may say. Or we can call it an iPod that makes phone calls But this phone is not just an iPod that makes phone calls but its much more then that. Lets take a look on its body for now though. This is a 116 x 62 x 12 mm Phone that weights 133 g. pretty slick, i will say. It has nice glossy finish that makes it an eye-candy. This phone has 480×320 px 3.5 inch LCD screen. Well, its not TFT like most other phones but it is one of the largest screen in this group. *cheers for Apple*. Ok now that’s all about look, but as i always say, whats inside is more important then outside, right?

The Apple iPhone 3G operates on iPhone OS 2.2.1. Well, you have guessed it correctly, this is the same OS that iPod touch runs on. Its based on Mac OS . iPhone 3G is powered with “Coreanimation” and “Power VR” to give you smoother graphics.  The iPhone allows audio conferencing, call holding, call merging, caller ID, and integration with other cellular network features and iPhone functions. For example, if a song is playing while a call is received, it gradually fades out, and fades back when the call has ended. Although iPhone has many phone features, it still misses out some basic features but I hope they will improve it in next version. The iPhone supports voice dialing but from third party software only, so that’s kind of bummer. And unfortunately video calling is not supported at all. The iPhone includes a visual voicemail, but that’s only for few selected countries only. Also there is a music ringtone feature that allows a song to turn into ringtone but that was expected from iPhone anyway. The storage capacity of iPhone 3G is 16 Gb with 128 DRAM for processing power. Now lets look at connectivity. The iPhone 3G supports Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Quad band GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900, GPRS/EDGE, Tri band UMTS/HSDPA 850, 1900, 2100. With such fast network you can send over your files, music & videos in almost no time.

OK now lets look at the fun part. Apple iPhone 3G has 2.0 megapixel with geocoding. Not so high on resolution but hey, nothing to worry about too much. Now its iPhone so media player is most obvious thing, right? Well, iPhone 3G media player is managed with iTunes version 7.3 or later just like the iPod. It supports every feature that iPod has to offer.Now, looking at the battery life, the original iPhone’s battery was stated to be capable of providing up to seven hours of video, six hours of web browsing, eight hours of talk time, 24 hours of music or up to 250 hours on standby. This phone has also GPS. Of course the drawback is that this feature affects the battery life but its good enough to use is even so. It takes less than 5 seconds and a click to be located on a map via satellite. From there you can get directions and track your progress along a route, which will once again appear in no time.

Overall, Apple iPhone 3G is a good phone. Not too good if you are not much in for the music & iPod but still very good if you really are in the music.
